Green Smoothie Recipe

Lately, I have been trying to start my days off right with a big boost of fruit and veggies in the form of a green smoothie. Though many people are afraid to try them for fear of the taste of liquified vegetables, the fruit in the smoothie balances out the vegetables making my green smoothies a tasty and healthy treat.

To make my green smoothies, I start with:
1 cup of water
1 banana (under ripe, over ripe, frozen - it doesn't matter)
1/2 an orange with white part still on (it is packed with vitamin C)
2-4 strawberries, depending on the size
4 baby carrots
1 stalk of celery
1 tablespoon coconut oil (super good for hair, skin and nails)
1 large handful of kale or spinach (I switch back and forth each time I buy it)
7 drops NuNaturals organic pure stevia extract

A good friend of mine just introduced me to NuNaturals stevia, and I use it daily in my smoothies as a sweetener instead of sugar. I am huge on staying away from anything artificial, and this is a great, low calorie all natural sweetener. Another great choice that I used before I was introduced to NuNaturals is organic agave nectar. Once in a while I still use it in my smoothies and I always use it instead of sugar in my tea or oatmeal.

Anyways, I put all of the ingredients together in my blender for a couple of minutes and enjoy a healthy pre-workout breakfast.

Thanks for reading, God bless ya!
